The Watertown Fire Department and the A10 crew from the Boston Sparks Association joined Waltham FD in fighting the fire around 11:04 a.m. Waltham’s health, building and wires departments responded alongside several utility companies and the State Fire Marshal’s Office.

During the fire, other calls in the city were handled by the remaining Waltham FD crew and mutual aid service received from Newton, Weston, Lexington and Belmont.

Crews succeeded in knocking down the heaviest part of the fire within the first 20 to 30 minutes and spent an hour afterward making sure the fire was contained and extinguishing hot spots. There were no injuries reported.

The two restaurants in the building, Hakata Ramen and Sushi and Dominican Grill Chicken and Pizza, will be closed until further notice.
