All ages, all paces – Join the Community Day Center 5K!

The Mission MetroWest Road Race is back!

Registration is now open for the Community Day Center of Waltham’s second annual Mission MetroWest road race taking place Sunday, May 31, from 8 a.m to 12 p.m. at Prospect Hill Park (TBC).

All ages and abilities are welcome, and every dollar supports Waltham’s unhoused neighbors. “This race is for everybody. You can walk it, you can run it, and the course stays within the park. It’s a great scenic trail and a fun time,” said executive director Chloe-Rose Crouch.

The Early Bird Special for signup has been extended until Friday, March 20.

  • 2 regular 5K entries – $60
  • 2 Mission MetroWest entries – $40
  • 2 student  entries – $30

Plus the first 50 people to register here get a free CDCW Road Race water bottle.

This race is the culmination of a larger CDCW fundraising campaign also coming in May called “Mission MetroWest a Mile a Day in May,” which is a digital exercise challenge. People commit to walking a mile a day during the month to raise funds for the center.

All proceeds raised from both fundraisers will be used to repair the building where CDCW holds its overnight program for guests, which is in very tough shape. The night program sleeps 20 people from 7 p.m to 7 a.m. through the harshest months of the winter. Within the next few years, the current condition of the building is going to put the program at risk, according to the CDCW.

“It’s a really important building for us. It’s the closest thing our guests have to a home. So every penny we raise from the race will go to repairs,” Crouch said.
