Storm downs tree on Lincoln Street

Waltham crews responded Sunday afternoon after a large tree fell across Lincoln Street, blocking the roadway as a nor’easter brought heavy rain and gusty winds to the region.

Waltham Public Works crews worked through steady rain, using chainsaws and heavy equipment to cut apart and remove the tree. Photos from the scene show large sections of the tree and debris covering the roadway.

At the same time, Waltham Fire companies were responding to a cardiac arrest on nearby Montclair Avenue. Dispatchers advised the responding companies of the blocked section of Lincoln Street so they could avoid the area while responding to the medical emergency.

The National Weather Service has a flood watch in effect for Waltham as periods of heavy rain continue with the slow-moving nor’easter.
