Waltham City Council declares June 8 Pride Day

City Council approved a resolution to observe Sunday, June 8, 2025, as Pride Day to recognize and celebrate the Waltham residents and volunteers who will host Pride Day community events. The Pride Flag will be on display at City Hall that day in solidarity with the LGBTQ+ community per the resolution.
“Waltham is a welcoming city to people of all walks of life,” the resolution states, noting that “the people in Waltham are welcoming to all those who express sexual orientation and gender identity across many spectrums.”
In addition to approving the resolution at its Tuesday night meeting, the council expressed its support of the LGBTQ+ community for the month of June and beyond.
“This resolution dates back to 2019 and the goal is to amplify voices of all members of the LGBTQIA+ community,” said Councilor-at-Large Colleen Bradley-MacArthur. “In 2025 it is definitely not a hyperbole to say that in this community all of the letters represented plus, face violence, discrimination and erasure.”

This may have changed, but the resolution I saw as of May 27 was not signed by two City Councilors: Brasco and McMenimen. It would be helpful to Waltham voters to know who didn’t support the resolution.
