Audrey E. Beaton (Irving), 1928-2025

Audrey E. (Irving) Beaton, of Marshfield, formerly of Waltham, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on Tuesday morning, May 13, 2025. She was 97.

The beloved wife of the late Roy Beaton, she is survived by her loving children Forrest Beaton, Bonnie Matthews and Nancy MacDonald, her 9 grandchildren and her 11 great grandchildren.

Audrey was predeceased by her son Douglas Beaton, her granddaughter Jennifer Matthews and her siblings Everett, Mansfield, Lucy and Reta.

Born, raised and educated Cambridge, Prince Edward Island she was the daughter of the late Otto and Mary (Acorn) Irving. She settled in Waltham in 1952 where she resided until moving to Marshfield in 2021.

A longtime employee at FM Global in Norwood, she worked in the cafeteria until her retirement in her late 80’s.
She had been an active member of Beth Eden Baptist Church in Waltham as well as the French American Victory Club in Waltham. Audrey loved to travel to her native PEI to visit with all her dear family still residing there. She enjoyed reading, cooking, knitting, spending time with her cherish grand and great grandchildren and everyone knew that she loved to watch “the Wheel”.

Family and friends are invited to gather in the Mary Catherine Chapel of the Brasco and Sons Memorial, 773 Moody Street, Waltham, Friday afternoon at 1PM followed by Memorial Services at 2:15PM officiated by Rev. Dr. Esther Pearson. For those unable to attend the Service will be livestreamed on www.brascolive.com. Burial will be held in Canada at a later date.

Donations in Audrey’s memory may be made in her memory to the Norwell VNA and Hospice, 120 Longwater Drive, Norwell, MA 02061.
