Rose Aiello, 1926–2026, loving mother and grandmother

Rose M. (Gianetti) Aiello, of Waltham, died Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at her home. She was 99.

Rose was born in Newton on July 11, 1926, a daughter of the late Giovanni and Maria (Marinaccio) Gianetti and grew up in ‘The Lake’. In 1960 she moved with her family to the Lakeview neighborhood of Waltham.

Until her retirement she worked as a waitress for more than twenty years at the Wal-Lex Recreation Center where she became a well-known and a much loved friend to customer and co-workers alike. Weekly games of Bingo at area venues and summer trips to Wells, Maine were welcome respites for many years for Rose.

The wife of the late Frank Aiello, she leaves her children, Doreen M. DeVincent (Jim) and Joseph F.Aiello (Tami), all of Waltham; her grandchildren, Brendan, Monica and Shawn DeVincent, and Michael and Kevin Aiello; her great-grandchildren, Dominic, Nicholas, Tyler, Landon, Gabriella, Charlotte and Madison; and several nieces, nephews and their families.

Rose was also the grandmother of the late David Aiello and sister of the late Alfred Amandola, and Frank and Anthony Giannetti.

Funeral services will be private.
