“After a long and challenging journey, we are thrilled to welcome the community back to our revitalized aquatics space,” said Erica Young, the executive director of the club.

The renovation project included essential upgrades to heating, ventilation and air conditioning as well as structural repairs and extensive maintenance work.

Although the club is still finalizing its aquatics program offerings, club members can now enjoy open pool hours. The club also will offer pool time during  summer camp sessions for children entering grades one through eight.

Additionally, the club has partnered with Tiburon Swim Academy, founded by brothers Adam and Domenic DiTullio, to help revitalize its programming. The collaboration emphasizes water safety, skill development and personal growth. Tiburon is planning to provide 100 lessons weekly, according to its website.

The reopening was made possible through a $1.5 million revitalization project, funded primarily by federal appropriations secured by U.S. Rep. Katherine Clark, a Democrat whose district includes Waltham, with additional support from Waltham’s Community Development Block Grant program.

“This reopening demonstrates our commitment to providing safe and enriching opportunities to our community members. We are grateful to Congresswoman Katherine Clark and the City of Waltham for providing the critical support,” Young said.

The Waltham Boys & Girls Club has supported youth with programs focused on academics, health and leadership for more than 85 years. Built on the values of equity, empathy, continual growth and fun, the organization is dedicated to providing children with the resources they need to thrive.
