Flag Day pickleball tournament raises funds to help veterans find housing

Waltham’s VFW Sullivan Post 10334 and Launch Foundation held their second annual Flag Day pickleball tournament on Father’s Day, June 15. The tournament had originally been planned for Flag Day, June 14, but rain forced it to be postponed to the following day. The Waltham Lions Club sponsored the tournament.

The event raised funds for veterans in need. Sixty players competed in men’s, women’s and mixed doubles events. Waltham veterans presented gold, silver and bronze medal to the winners. Despite being rained out, the event raised over $5000, according to Ward 3 Councilor Bill Hanley.
