Josephine M. (Murphy) Breau, 1935–2025, helped her husband manage Crest Ceilings
Josephine M. (Murphy) Breau of Waltham died Saturday, July 19, 2025, at CareOne in Newton. She was 90.
She was born on April 25, 1935 in St. Lawrence, Prince Edward Island, a daughter of the late Clarence and Lima Rose (Handrahan) Murphy. She lived for a time in Quebec and in Ontario where she met her husband, Ulysse J. Breau. Following their marriage the couple moved to the States and settled in Waltham where they raised their family.
Josephine worked for years helping to manage her husband’s business, Crest Ceilings, of Waltham.
She enjoyed traveling, especially summer trips ‘home’ to Prince Edward Island and winter excursions to Largo, Florida. She was an avid card player and became a talented golfer.
Her husband, Ulysse, died in August, 2002.
She leaves her children, Gisele A. Tzovaras (Sotirios) of Wakefield, David F. Breau (Melissa) of Waltham and Cheryl M. Breau of Northboro; her grandchildren, Christina, Alexandra and Michael Tzovaras, Laura and Aidan Breau and Bryan and Megan Lajeunesse; her great-grandchildren, Blake and Auston Lajeunesse, Clara and James Simon and Sophia Tzovaras; her brothers, Leonard and Fred Murphy and several nieces, nephews and their families.
Josephine was also the sister of the late Earl, Richard, Frank, Russell and Joseph Murphy.
Family and friends will honor and remember Josephine’s life by gathering for an evening wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham, on Thursday, July 24, from 4 to 7 p.m. and again at 9 a.m. on Friday morning before leaving in procession to Our Lady Comforter of the Afflicted Church, 880 Trapelo Road, Waltham, where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Burial will be in Mount Feake Cemetery, Waltham.
