Halloween spirit is alive at MacArthur Elementary

Donate bags of candy to this Halloween goblin at the Star Market, 1070 Lexington St., and support Trunk or Treat, an annual fundraising event at the MacArthur Elementary School.
Candy donations are welcome until 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 24.
The tradition began during the COVID-19 pandemic and remains popular with MacArthur families and school staff who decorate their cars in fun and creative themes, and kids go “trick-or-treating” from trunk to trunk in the back parking lot.
The event also features a best trunk contest and a costume contest by grade level, so everyone gets a chance to show off their Halloween spirit.
Families pay to participate, and all proceeds go to the school’s PTO to support enrichment programs, field trips, teacher appreciation, field day and more.
