Volunteers clean up Prospect Hill Park

Volunteers from Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School joined Waltham Land Trust Stewards on Volunteer Day at Prospect Hill Park. Working together under clear autumn skies, the teams cleared trails, collected debris and completed maintenance projects across the park’s wooded slopes, with guidance and assistance from Friends of Prospect Hill.

The effort was part of an ongoing community partnership to preserve Waltham’s public green spaces and ensure they remain accessible to residents and visitors. Waltham is home to an exceptional number of parks and conservation lands, thanks in large part to the energy and generosity of volunteers who dedicate time to maintaining them for all to enjoy.

The first photo I have a memory of taking is one I took of my mother, father and younger sister. I believe my sister was wearing her baptismal dress. I would have been four years old. I no longer have the photo as I have given all the photos with my sister in them to my sister. I got the photography from my dad and nature from my mom. I am the family photo archivist. I’m also a chronicler. I chronical nature, family, events, sometimes meaningful sometimes random. It is a hobby that I enjoy. I have lived in Waltham for 29 years. I am a “city girl” I love living in a city. I love visiting the countryside but love living right in the city. I love having a choice where I can walk, bicycle or drive to the supermarket and other places if so desired.
