Waltham is home to a high population of working poor, many of whom are service workers, low-income seniors and recent immigrants. Healthy Waltham assists these populations by offering easy access to healthy foods, serving hundreds of families monthly.

Its most popular service is a marketplace-style food pantry that functions much like a grocery store. People can grab a cart and walk around to different stations to select food to take home. Those interested can set up an appointment online. Registration is available in multiple languages.

Healthy Waltham relies on donations to fund its programs. Now through Dec. 31, all end-of-year gifts will be matched dollar for dollar thanks to The Village Bank

The nonprofit, which has been serving the Waltham community since 2004, plans to move to a permanent home at 123 Felton St. Renovations are underway, with a projected completion date of February 2026.
