Waltham to lift snow emergency parking ban Tuesday morning

The city’s snow emergency and parking ban will end at 7 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24, city officials announced Monday night. Vehicles must remain off city streets until that time.

Residents who parked in designated school parking lots during the storm will have until 9 a.m. Tuesday to move their vehicles. Those using municipal parking lots will have 24 hours, or until 7 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, to remove their cars. Any vehicles left after the deadlines are subject to ticketing and towing, officials said.

All Waltham Public Schools will remain closed Tuesday, and trash and recycling pickup will be delayed by one day throughout the week. Residents are asked to place barrels and carts out one day after their usual pickup date.

The Department of Public Works urged residents to keep trash and recycling containers visible and accessible to help crews safely and efficiently navigate snow-narrowed streets.
