Emergency crews responded to a single-vehicle crash Wednesday afternoon, March 4, at the intersection of Lincoln and Lexington streets, police said.

The crash occurred around 12:40 p.m. when a vehicle struck a traffic island at the intersection, according to Waltham Police and Fire Department reports. First responders evaluated the driver, a woman who initially said she was not injured but appeared shaken up.

An ambulance was requested to the scene, and radio transmissions indicated Medic 1 transported one patient to a local hospital. The extent of the woman’s injuries was not immediately clear.

The vehicle sustained damage and was later towed from the scene.
