The city is holding its annual cleanup in honor of Earth Day this Saturday, April 25, from 9 a.m. to noon. Residents, students and local businesses are invited to take part in a shared mission of keeping Waltham clean and welcoming.

Participants will meet at  the back of the Public Works building at 155 Lexington St., where organizers will lead them in cleaning up Waltham’s public spaces. The goal is to spread across the city and cover as many areas as possible, including parks, streets and sidewalks.

The cleanup is about more than just picking up litter – it’s an opportunity to build community pride and encourage environmental responsibility. City officials have emphasized that even a few hours of collective effort can make a visible difference, especially as the warmer months bring more people outdoors.

Volunteers may join as individuals or in groups. To sign up or for more information, contact organizers Chris Falzone (cfalzone@city.waltham.ma.us) or Jeff Sutherland (jsutherland@city.waltham.ma.us).
