Mike Hill earns top coaching honor after breakout season at Bentley 

Bentley University’s Mike Hill was named the East Region Coach of the Year by the American Baseball Coaches Association this week. He is the first East Region Coach of the Year in Bentley baseball history.

In just his fourth season as head coach, Hill guided the Falcons through a landmark 2026 campaign that included the program’s first Northeast-10 Conference championship and its first-ever appearance in the NCAA Division II World Series. 

Bentley entered the postseason as the No. 1 seed in the NCAA East Regional, where it defeated Goldey-Beacom College and Wilmington University, both of Delaware, to advance to the Super Regional.

Hosting the Super Regional in Waltham, Bentley won two of three games against No. 2 seed Molloy to secure its trip to Cary, N.C.., and the Division II World Series.

The Falcons finished the season 44–17, setting a new single-season program record for wins, surpassing the mark set in 2025. During the historic run, Bentley spent three weeks ranked in the national top 10 in the ABCA poll.
