Kathleen Fogg, 1949–2026, had a ‘ready smile and kind, affable nature’

Kathleen M. (O’Connell) Fogg, of Waltham, died at home on Sunday, June 28, 2026 following a period of declining health. She was 76.

Kathy was born in Somerville on Oct. 26, 1949, a daughter of the late John and Joan (Tessier) O’Connell. Raised in Watertown, she was a graduate of Watertown High School.

Until her retirement she enjoyed a successful career as a real estate agent with Coldwell Banker in Waltham. Before that she’d worked as a waitress at the Stockyard in Brighton and at Greg’s Restaurant in Watertown. Her ready smile and kind, affable nature earned many friends among customers and co-workers alike.

She moved to Waltham in 1984 following her marriage to Steve Fogg. The couple spent many happy vacations on the beaches of Aruba and Cape Cod.

She leaves her husband, (Ret.) Waltham Police Officer Steven E. Fogg; her son, Christopher LaRose (Colleen Gardner) of Ft. Lauderdale, Florida; her step-children, Lisa Sameski of Waltham, (Ret.) Waltham Police Officer Jeffrey Fogg (Jeannette) of Wayland and Waltham Police Sergeant Michael Fogg (Donna) of Waltham; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and their families.

Kathy was also the sister of the late Michael O’Connell.

Family and friends honored and remembered Kathy’s life by gathering for her wake in The Joyce Funeral Home, 245 Main Street (Rte. 20), Waltham on Monday, July 6 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. and again at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning before leaving in procession to Saint Jude Church, 147 Main Street, Waltham where her funeral mass was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Waltham.
