Two-alarm fire on Cross Street

Waltham firefighters responded to a two-alarm house fire at 28 Cross St. on Thursday around 2 p.m. after heavy fire was reported from the rear of the home.

Firefighters worked in hot and humid conditions to bring the fire under control, with mutual aid departments assisting at the scene. Crews remained on scene conducting overhaul operations.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No injuries have been reported.
