Police host neighborhood meeting focused on safety, resources

Waltham police officer Kristin Tracey met with residents Tuesday morning at 48 Pine St. as part of the department’s ongoing community outreach efforts. Her talk provided an opportunity for residents to discuss neighborhood concerns, public safety, crime prevention, quality-of-life issues and available city resources.
Residents also received a building security notice from the Waltham Housing Authority reminding tenants not to allow unauthorized individuals into their building, to verify visitors through the intercom before granting access and to ensure guests are accompanied while inside the property.
The meeting was part of an ongoing effort to visit neighborhoods throughout the city and connect residents with local resources and public safety officials, Tracey said.
“Meetings like this are important to have the community get to know the stakeholders within the city that can help them for services that they need,” she said. “The connection of police with the community is so essential so that people feel safe and informed.”
