Firefighters tackle Beech Street fire
Waltham firefighters responded to 28 Beech St. at 1:14 p.m. on Saturday following reports of a building fire with smoke coming from the rear of the structure.

Upon arrival, crews encountered smoke showing and upgraded the incident to a working fire. Firefighters stretched hose lines, secured a hydrant and located a fire involving the rear-door threshold of the home.
The fire was quickly knocked down before it could spread further. Crews remained on scene checking for extension and completing overhaul operations. Companies began returning to service shortly after the fire was under control.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
