Firefighters find light smoke in Star Market equipment room

Waltham emergency crews responded to Star Market at 1070 Lexington St. around 10:40 a.m. Sunday after a report of smoke inside the building.

Firefighters found light smoke in an equipment room and shut down the affected equipment while they investigated. Crews also raised Tower 1’s ladder to the roof to inspect the building’s rooftop machinery..

Star Market maintenance workers were called to the property. No injuries were reported, and the cause of the smoke has not been determined.
