Public safety report: Thieves break into car parked on Felton Street

A soft-top convertible was broken into last week in Waltham.

On Sept. 20 at 5:58 p.m., police responded to a business on Felton Street for a report of a vehicle break-in.  A suspect cut a hole in a convertible’s canvas top to access the vehicle and steal items inside. Police are still investigating the incident.

Additional police and fire activity from Sept. 17-20 is as follows:

On Sept. 17 at 6:15 p.m., police responded to a report of suspicious activity at Nipper Maher Park. A caller reported seeing two men and a woman repeatedly going in and out of the men’s bathroom. Police spoke with the three individuals and determined they were in the bathroom to get out of the rain.

On Sept. 17 at 8:58 p.m., police responded to a Derby Street residence. A caller reported finding a note on the residence’s door that read,  “I see you.” Officers spoke with the caller and advised them on how to handle the situation going forward.

On Sept. 18 at 7:54 p.m., police responded to a Rosewood Drive residence. The caller reported seeing a dark SUV park on the street and turn off its lights.  Police investigated and determined a police cruiser was in the area conducting traffic enforcement.

On Sept. 19 at 1:20 p.m., police responded to reports of suspicious activity along the Charles River near the Watch Factory Lofts. The caller reported seeing a man urinating in the woods. The man told police he was boating with his grandchildren and stopped in an area where he thought no one could see him.

On Sept. 19 at 5:14 p.m., police responded to a residence on Cherry Street. A  caller reported seeing someone in a grey sedan sitting in front of his house. When officers spoke to the driver, they discovered t he stopped to fill his tire.

On Sept. 20 at 3:17 p.m., police responded to a residence on Middlesex Circle for a report of a stolen moped. The caller told police she locked it outside her apartment but returned home to find it missing. Police are still investigating the incident.

On Sept. 20 at 8:41 p.m., police responded to the Metropolitan State Hospital administration building at 475 Trapelo Road. A caller reported hearing a loud bang followed by a car full of kids laughing. When officers arrived, there was no one in the area. They did not find anything suspicious.
