The duo Sultana will perform “The American Story in Song,” a program blending history, original music and images, at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 7, in the Carriage House at Gore Place at 52 Gore St.

The show was created for the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and weaves together historical narrative, handcrafted songs and a slideshow.

Sultana is the songwriting and performing duo of Jon and Li Waterman, who have taken their music and history programs to venues across New England as part of their series “Live Music Making History Live.” The series encourages the celebration and exploration of history through music.

Tickets are $15 to $25 and are available at goreplace.org.

The program is supported in part by a grant from the Waltham Cultural Council, a local agency supported by the Mass Cultural Council, a state agency.
