The great pumpkin giveaway

Families gathered at Pizzi Farm on Lincoln Street on Thursday afternoon for the annual pumpkin giveaway ahead of Halloween.

Waltham Mayor Jeannette McCarthy joined volunteers in handing out pumpkins to residents as vehicles made their way through the drive-thru event. Families could receive up to two pumpkins while supplies lasted.

The giveaway, held from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., was sponsored by local farmer Charlie Mantenuto and Rick Pizzi. Mantenuto grew the pumpkins locally, and Pizzi Farm provided the location.
