Fire at Brandeis chapel quickly extinguished

Waltham Fire responded to 415 South St. at Brandeis University on the afternoon of Friday, Dec. 5, after reports came in for smoke inside the Berlin Chapel.

Crews arrived, investigated the interior, and located a fire in a basement bathroom area. Firefighters quickly worked their way in and were able to contain the fire to that section of the building.

The crews aired out the building and checked to make sure the fire had not spread. The situation was brought under control shortly after arrival.

No injuries were reported. Waltham Fire and Brandeis officials are handling the investigation.
