Garden Club’s gift to Waltham High seniors

The Waltham High School senior prom enjoyed an extra special touch of beauty this year, thanks to the Waltham Garden Club. Club members donated 40 gorgeous floral arrangements to go with the prom’s theme of “A Night in Italy.”

Members arrived at the Westin Hotel on Friday afternoon and set to work crafting the arrangements. The color scheme called for white and cream with abundant greenery. The Garden club chose white hydrangeas, white majolika, mini spray carnations, Italian ruscus, sprays of sea lavendar, eucalyptus and olive branches.

“This community outreach began 20 years ago,” said club member Nancy Manzon D’Ercole. Every year the club makes the offer but “it’s up to the individual class to see if it’s something they might be interested in,” she said. “This year the class said yes.”
