Police seek witnesses in fatal road rage case

The Waltham Police Department is asking for the public’s help as officers continue to investigate the fatal road rage incident that claimed the life of 23-year-old Nicholas Dagostino of Waltham.

Although authorities have arrested and charged 31-year-old Timothy Scalisi of Waltham with manslaughter and assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, investigators believe there may be witnesses who have not yet come forward who could provide more information on the incident.

Police said there was heavy traffic in the area at the time of the incident and urge anyone who may have seen what happened to contact detectives. Investigators are particularly interested in obtaining dashcam footage or other information that could help them piece together the events leading up to the incident.

Prosecutors allege that Dagostino and Scalisi became involved in a confrontation after an encounter in traffic escalated outside Woodside’s Service Center on Weston Street at approximately 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday, May 27. Dagostino suffered serious head injuries during the altercation and died two days later.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Waltham detectives at 781-314-3550 or email tips@police.waltham.ma.us.
