Public Safety Watch: Waltham man arrested for assault and battery

Following a report from a Waltham resident, a man was arrested for assault and battery.
On April 22 at 4:41 p.m., police responded to a report of a past assault and battery at a residence on Marguerite Avenue. According to a police spokesperson, a tenant at that residence reported that a roommate had allegedly punched them in the face following an argument over using the phone.
The roommate, Wasek Kabir, 28, of 66 Marguerite Ave., Waltham, was arrested at 5:37 p.m. for assault and battery of someone 60 or older.
Waltham man arrested after probation violation
On April 21, police responded to 43 Rich St. to serve an arrest warrant.
This was the residence of Vyugar Ragymov, 39, who had allegedly violated his probation conditions for an offense in Newton. Ragymov began speaking to officers before fleeing on foot through the back door and climbing over a fence.
Officers followed Ragymov through streets and yards before arresting him at 11:06 a.m.
Ragymov was arrested for the probation warrant, resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.

A summary of police activity from April 18 to April 24 is as follows:
On April 18 at 10:56 a.m., police responded to a report of vandalism at a residence on Highland Street. The front driver’s side window of the reporting party’s vehicle had been damaged. It was determined that the damage was possibly accidental, potentially caused by a stray rock hitting the window from lawn maintenance.
Margo Mobiley, 60, unhoused, of Waltham, was arrested for trespassing at 11:16 a.m. Mobiley pleaded not guilty to this charge on April 22 and has a pretrial hearing on May 27.
At 1:41 p.m. police responded to a report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run at Star Market at 1070 Lexington St. It was reported that the caller’s vehicle was damaged in the parking lot. Police reviewed security camera footage and determined that this was not the case.
At 2:38 p.m. police responded to a report of a person that had gone missing from a residence on River Street. The 38-year-old male was reported missing at 2:30 a.m. and found by a Waltham police officer in a nearby area.
At 5:54 p.m. Karen Leduc, 61, of 205 Bacon St., was arrested for disorderly conduct. These charges were decriminalized and resolved on April 22 at the Waltham District Court.
On April 19 at 8:25 p.m., police responded to a report of an unwanted person at the Bristol Lodge at 27 Lexington St. Police discovered an intoxicated individual at that location. The individual was sent to the local hospital for medical evaluation.
At 10:12 p.m. police responded to a report of a mutual assault and battery in the parking lot of Guanchapi’s Bar and Grill at 154 River St. The alleged assault involved three people. Police reviewed security footage and determined there were no actions committed that would be pursuable by law enforcement. The involved parties were advised of their rights to pursue complaints through the court.
On April 20 at 9:19 a.m., police responded to a report of a utility hazard at the intersection of Lincoln and Ode streets. A neighborhood had lost power and a passerby reported seeing sparks from a pole at that location. Eversource responded to the area.
At 10:05 a.m. police responded to a report of an identity theft at a residence on Lincoln Street. A cell phone plan in the reporting party’s name had been opened. The bill was from a cell phone carrier that the reporting party did not use. The matter is under investigation.
At 7:54 p.m. police responded to a report of a past break-in at the Waverly Oaks Athletic Club at 425 Waverly Oaks Road. It was reported that the caller’s locker had been broken into and a wallet and credit cards had been stolen. The incident is under investigation.
On April 21 at 6:08 a.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run near a residence on Chestnut Street. The vehicle appeared to have been struck overnight after being parked on the street.
At 12:39 p.m. the Police Department deployed a drone to Lowell to assist the Lowell Police Department with locating a missing child.
Ronald Rujumba, 41, of 56 Fiske St., Waltham, was arrested at 11:54 p.m. on a warrant for an unregistered motor vehicle and a number plate violation.
On April 22 at 10:19 a.m., police responded to a report of a larceny at Costco Wholesale at 71 Second Ave. According to the loss prevention department, two men arrived at the store on bicycles and left with a vacuum worth $600 without paying. The incident is under investigation.
Johnathan Murray, 44, of 108 Alder St., Waltham, was arrested at 6:02 p.m. on a warrant for felony breaking and entering. In 2024, Murray was allegedly caught on video breaking into a home on Cushing Street.
On April 23 at 4:55 a.m., Brandon Gilbert was booked at the Waltham Police Department after being arrested by Brandeis University Police. Gilbert was arrested on warrants for suspended or revoked registration and an uninsured motor vehicle.
At 9:13 a.m., a property manager at an address on Main Street. reported that multiple vehicles had been parked overnight in a parking lot without permission. It was determined that the vehicles were from the Lions Club Carnival and were moved without incident.
On April 24 at 11:56 a.m., Sheri Altin, 35, of 178 Atlantic St., Quincy, was arrested on a warrant for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and inspection sticker violation.
At 1:03 p.m., police responded to a past assault and battery at 165 Lexington St. That matter is still under investigation.
Luis Santiago, 35, of 5 Fountain St., Waltham, was arrested at 1:10 p.m. on warrants for violating a harassment protection order twice and assault and battery. According to police, Santiago was barred from being on the property at Fountain Street as a part of the harassment protection order. He was allegedly seen on camera entering that property on April 23 and 24 and was subsequently arrested. The assault and battery charge was related to a warrant from the Brookline District Court. Police said Santiago is being charged with malicious destruction of property worth over $1,200 for breaking the plexiglass on the holding cells at the Police Department by kicking it.
At 10:23 p.m. police deployed a drone at the Fernald property at 200 Trapelo Road for general surveillance of the area.
