A prominent member of Waltham’s Ugandan community remains missing, several years after he was last seen.

According to a Waltham Police Department statement by the Waltham Police, the investigation into the disappearance of 56-year-old Timothy Kizito remains open.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Kizito was chairman of the board of Bantu Pro Inc. and Productions, an audiovisual production studio in Waltham.

A close family friend reported Kizito missing to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) on Dec. 21, 2021, after Kizito failed to return to his Waltham home from a trip to Los Angeles.

Kizito flew to Los Angeles on Dec. 17, 2021, and was supposed to return on Dec. 19.

Waltham and Massachusetts State Police became involved in the investigation on Feb. 2, 2022, after investigators with LAPD requested assistance.

Both Waltham and Massachusetts State Police conducted interviews, investigated relevant locations, and assisted with local legal processes.

Waltham police also met with the LAPD investigator in person in March 2022.

The case is still active and open. Police ask anyone with relevant information to contact the LAPD at (877) 275-5273.
