New England’s model engineers show off their craft in annual show

The New England Model Engineering Society held their 26th annual show at the Charles River Museum of Industry & Innovation on Saturday, March 15. The popular show, a fundraiser for the museum, draws hundreds of spectators of all ages with its enthralling displays of ingenuity.

The Society was established by and for people who enjoy metal working and machining. The show originally centered on the construction of model gas and steam engines but has expanded to include a variety of models and projects made out of other materials such as wood, plastic and paper. The show is also open to people who collect and restore tools.
