Waltham voters head to the polls Tuesday for state primaries

Polls in Waltham will be open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 1, for the Massachusetts state primaries, when voters will choose party nominees for a full slate of state and federal offices.

Offices on the ballot include U.S. senator, U.S. representative, governor, lieutenant governor, attorney general, secretary of state, treasurer and auditor, along with Governor’s Council, state senator, state representative, district attorney and register of probate. Early voting in the city wrapped up Friday, Aug. 28, after a seven-day run at the gymnasium of the Rosario Malone Archive and Records Center. Voter registration closed at 5 p.m. Aug. 22, and applications to vote by mail were due by 5 p.m. Aug. 25.

Voters already registered in Waltham may cast a ballot in person Tuesday at their assigned precinct polling place. Sample ballots for the Democratic and Republican primaries are posted on the city’s elections page.
