Public Safety Watch: Dorchester man arrested on drug charges

A Dorchester man was arrested on drug charges and warrants following action by the Waltham Police Department and other members of the Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force, an interdepartmental task force focusing on drug investigations.
According to a police report, Waltham police detectives and other task force members attempted to stop Carlos Brioso-Collintes, 43, of 15 School St., Dorchester, on March 20 while he was operating a vehicle on South Street.
Brioso-Collintes, whom police were investigating for alleged drug distribution in Waltham, fled from police.
Task force members with assistance from the Watertown Police Department located Brioso-Collintes on Charles River Street in Watertown the next day.
Police arrested Brioso-Collintes at 5:24 p.m. on March 21 in Watertown and charged him with distribution of fentanyl and cocaine, failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
He was also arrested on warrants from 2021 out of the West Roxbury District Court for [motor vehicle] window obstruction, trespassing, carrying a dangerous weapon and failure to stop for police.
A police spokesperson said the investigation is ongoing.

On March 21 at 8:59 a.m., police responded to a report of a package theft at the ReNew apartment complex at 34 Middlesex Circle. The matter is under investigation.
At 2:31 p.m., police responded to a report of a larceny at The Home Depot at 100 First Ave. Video surveillance showed an individual stealing a $400 drill set. Later that day, the alleged perpetrator was arrested by the Woburn Police Department for allegedly shoplifting from a Lowe’s Home Improvement store. Following the arrest, the Waltham Police Department charged the 41-year-old Boston man with shoplifting. A name for the individual was not available.
At 2:32 p.m., police responded to a report of someone receiving threatening text messages at a residence on Hammond Street. The reporting party told police the threatening messages could be related to a scam. Police advised the individual of options.
Miguel Hurtado-Gutierrez, 46, homeless, of Waltham, was arrested and charged at 5:24 p.m. for violating an abuse prevention order.
On March 22 at 12:55 p.m., police responded to a reported larceny. The reporting party believed that a side mirror was stolen from the individual’s vehicle. A report was filed.
Emmanuel Sewaguma, 33, of 738 Main St., Waltham, was arrested on a warrant related to an alleged theft of a scooter on Oct. 31, 2024.
Isaac Rosado, 29, of 13 Gardner St., Waltham, was arrested and charged at 5:41 p.m. on a warrant for assault and battery of an individual 60 or older.
At 9:08 p.m. police responded to a report of fireworks being set off near the Walter E. Fernald Development Center at 200 Trapelo Road. Officers checked the area and were unable to locate anyone.
On March 23 at 1:28 p.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run at the Waltham Plaza at 1074 Main St. The caller’s vehicle was reportedly struck in the parking lot. A report was filed.
At 5:29 p.m. police responded to a report of an unwanted individual at the Extended Stay America at 32 Fourth Ave. An individual who was not a guest at the hotel was causing a disturbance in the lobby. Upon the arrival of the police, the individual left without incident.
At 5:39 p.m. police responded to a report of an issue between neighbors, who were engaging in a verbal argument about a shared driveway. Police advised the parties of their options.
Erlin Aguirre-Veron, 29, of 152 Putnam St., Boston, was arrested and charged at 11:44 p.m. for operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and an unspecified motor vehicle light violation.
On March 24 at 9:05 p.m., police responded to a report of harassment at a business at 235 High St. An employee stated that a former customer had been sending harassing messages. A report was filed.
At 1:39 p.m. police responded to a report of vandalism at The Home Depot at 100 First Ave. The caller’s vehicle reportedly had been keyed in the parking lot on March 21. The matter is under investigation.
On March 25 at 9:59 a.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run in a parking lot at 20 Hope Ave. Upon arrival, it was discovered that the incident was a misunderstanding between the two drivers and no wrongdoing was found.
At 11:52 a.m. police responded to a report of a bicycle larceny at 20 Cooper St. A resident reported that an electric bicycle was stolen from a bicycle rack while in a garage. The matter is under investigation.
At 10:17 p.m. police responded to a report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run on Gardner Street. The caller reportedly witnessed a vehicle hitting a parked car and then leaving the scene. Officers were unable to locate a damaged vehicle or the alleged perpetrator.
On March 26 at 2:09 a.m., Abraham Iga, 35, of 31 Middlesex Circle was arrested for operating an uninsured motor vehicle, a revoked registration and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.
At 2:10 p.m. police responded to a larceny at the Westin Hotel at 70 Third Ave. An employee reported that unauthorized purchases had been made on a company credit card. A report was filed.
Steven Schofield, 57, homeless, of Waltham, was arrested and charged at 6:59 p.m. on warrants for concealing a license plate and receiving stolen property worth $1,200 or less.
At 10:16 p.m. Waltham police officers assisted a police department in California with alerting the owner of a Main Street business to a possible fraud-related incident.
March 27 at 12:37 a.m., police responded to a report of an unwanted individual at the Hyatt House at 54 Fourth Ave. Staff at the hotel said someone who was not a guest was causing a disturbance. Upon arrival, police discovered that the individual had already left the area.
At 4:47 a.m. police responded to a report of harassment at a School Street residence. The caller reported receiving annoying text messages. Police determined that the incident was a civil matter and advised the reporting party on options.
