Pedals whirled at Waverley Oaks Athletic Club as dozens of riders worked their exercise bikes to raise $24,000 for cancer research.

The money was raised as part of the club’s annual Pedal to End Cancer initiative. The three-hour cycle event raised funds for the cause while honoring cancer survivors.

The annual event at Waverley Oaks Athletic Club has brought in more than $125,000 since 2015 to help fund cancer research, critical patient care services, education, prevention initiatives and more.

“Cancer touches the lives of so many, and being able to contribute in any way possible – from helping find a cure to supporting those going through the battle – is what keeps us inspired and focused on our goal,” said Heather Healy, senior director of member experience at Waverley Oaks Athletic Club. “This year’s goal was $23,000. As you can imagine, we were amazed and humbled by the outpouring of support from our staff and participants, and we can’t wait to see what next year brings.”There is still an opportunity to support the event through the end of the year.
