Divers search Charles River for gun

Members of the Massachusetts State Police dive team gathered on Tuesday, June 10, near the Moody Street entrance to the DCR trail along Charles River as they prepared to search the river. A dive team member confirmed that they were searching for a gun reportedly used in an incident last week. According to Waltham police, a male discharged a firearm near the commuter rail tracks around Moody Street and Railroad Avenue on June 2 around 5:30 p.m. A witness told police that the suspect may have thrown the firearm into the Charles River. The State Police underwater recovery team had searched the river that night. A 17-year-old is facing several charges, including assault with intent to murder, assault with a dangerous weapon and firearm-related offenses, in connection with the incident.
