Rita Ann McKee, 1927-2025

Rita Ann McKee, 1927-2025

Rita Ann McKee, 97, of Waltham, a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and more importantly friend, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 12, surrounded by her daughter, granddaughter and son-in-law.

Rita was born on July 21, 1927, in Bronx, New York, to the late Thomas F. and Anna L. Clinton (Reichert). Rita was the youngest of six siblings.

Rita’s remarkable strength, compassion, quiet resilience and independence helped her stay positive and fight through life’s challenges. Rita had an amazing ability to connect with others, often expressing her creativity through crocheting, dancing and joking around with others, especially her caretakers.

Rita worked for many years for BC Ames in Waltham while raising her daughter. Her greatest enjoyment in life came from being with her family. She cherished every moment she had when she had the opportunity to spend time with them while secretly wishing her daughter Cathy was with them. Her wish was to find her, that wish came true in 2023 when Rita and Cathy finally met.

In her later years, she found deep comfort and companionship in the tireless devotion of her daughter Marci, her son-in-law David, and granddaughter Megan and a team of compassionate caretakers who became family.

Rita will forever be remembered not only for the hardships she endured but also for her laughter, passion, gratitude and kindness she gave freely, her courage through decades of quiet sacrifice and her love for life and the love of her family.

She is survived by her children, Ronnie, Kevin, Wendy, Doree, Cathy, Marci and several great-grandchildren.

Her legacy will live on in the hearts of those who truly knew and stood by her. A private celebration of Rita’s life will be held for her family.
