Cristobal Batista, of Waltham, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, April 16, 2026, in the comfort of his home. He was 63.

Born in Corozal, Puerto Rico on April 21, 1962, he was the beloved son of the late Jose M. Batista and Felicita (Rosario) Batista.

Cristobal honorably served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps with courage, integrity and unwavering commitment. Following his military service, he dedicated many years to the transportation industry, working as a truck driver for Valleys Bakery in Waltham.

A devoted provider, Cristobal approached his work with determination, reliability and a deep sense of responsibility. He took great pride in ensuring the well-being of his family, always striving to build a secure and stable future for those he loved.

Cristobal was a true moral guide to his family, leading not only with words but through his actions and character. He exemplified patience, understanding and protection, consistently placing the needs of his wife, children and loved ones above his own. Through his unwavering love and dedication, he created a lasting foundation of strength, security and compassion.

Cristobal is lovingly survived by his wife, Edith Morales; his beloved children, Christian and Cristobal Batista of California, Mercedes and Joseph Batista of Brookline, Edith M. Ortiz and her husband Dennis Lagos, Francisco J. Ortiz and his wife Cynthia Bellan and Keishla Ortiz and her husband Ivan J. Rodriguez of Waltham; his cherished grandchildren, Jadiel Quintana, Jaydith Bueso, Diamilet Bueso, Joriel Ortiz, Katishka Castro Ortiz, Angelishka Castro Ortiz, Jayden Castro Ortiz, Jesse Jimenez, Ariana Melendez, Eva Melendez and Xavier Batista; and numerous other extended family members and dear friends who will forever cherish his memory.

The family kindly extends their heartfelt gratitude for the outpouring of love, support and prayers during this difficult time.

Cristóbal Batista, de Waltham, falleció inesperadamente el jueves 16 de abril de 2026, en la tranquilidad de su hogar. Tenía 63 años.

Nacido en Corozal, Puerto Rico, el 21 de abril de 1962, fue el querido hijo de los fallecidos José M. Batista y Felicita (Rosario) Batista.

Cristóbal sirvió honorablemente a su país en el Cuerpo de Marines de los Estados Unidos con valentía, integridad y un compromiso inquebrantable. Tras su servicio militar, dedicó muchos años a la industria del transporte, trabajando como conductor de camiones para Valleys Bakery en Waltham.

Como proveedor dedicado, Cristóbal afrontó su trabajo con determinación, responsabilidad y un profundo sentido del deber. Se enorgullecía enormemente de velar por el bienestar de su familia, esforzándose siempre por construir un futuro seguro y estable para sus seres queridos.

Ortiz y su esposo Dennis Lagos, Francisco J. Ortiz y su esposa Cynthia Bellan y Keishla Ortiz y su esposo Iván J. Rodríguez, de Waltham; y a sus adorados nietos, Jadiel Quintana, Jaydith Bueso, Diamilet Bueso, Joriel Ortiz, Katishka Castro Ortiz, Angelishka Castro Ortiz, Jayden Castro Ortiz, Jesse Jiménez, Ariana Meléndez, Eva Meléndez y Xavier Batista; además de numerosos familiares y queridos amigos que siempre atesorarán su memoria.
