Waltham police arrest man accused of running through yards, checking cars

Waltham police responded to the Byron Road area at approximately 5:01 p.m. Sunday after receiving reports of a suspicious man walking through the neighborhood, cutting through residents’ yards and looking into windows.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic man with a beard, wearing a blue hat, gray shirt and navy pants. Officers were advised the man left the Byron Road area on foot, heading onto Warren Street before turning onto Candace Avenue. A bicycle believed to be associated with the individual was reportedly left in a nearby yard.
A short time later, police responded to additional reports in the areas of Bruce Road, Candace Avenue, Warren Street and Fairfax Road, where residents reported someone running through backyards and looking into parked vehicles. During the search, officers located an individual matching the description in front of 79 Bruce Road and took the person into custody without incident.
No additional information has been released.
