Waltham Weather Outlook: July 16 – July 23

Wildfire smoke will continue to affect Waltham today, producing hazy skies and reduced air quality even as temperatures climb into the upper 80s. A cold front will move through late this afternoon and evening, bringing only a slight chance of a passing shower before ushering in cooler, much less humid air for Friday. Comfortable summer weather continues into Friday before warmth and humidity gradually return on Saturday. A stronger cold front will then bring showers and thunderstorms Saturday evening into early Sunday, with beneficial rainfall expected across much of the region. While a few downpours are possible, the overall severe weather threat currently appears limited. Behind the front, cooler and noticeably less humid air settles into southern New England early next week, with highs mainly in the lower to middle 80s before a gradual warming trend resumes by midweek.
