Ambulance, vehicle collision sends one to hospital

Waltham police and firefighters responded to the intersection of Newton and Ash streets at about 4:03 p.m. Saturday after a crash involving an Armstrong Ambulance that was responding to an emergency call.

The ambulance crew reported the collision, prompting Waltham firefighters and additional emergency units to respond. Airbags deployed in the other vehicle.

One person was taken to a local hospital. Another person declined treatment at the scene.

Waltham police are investigating the cause of the crash.
