Three Kennedy Middle School students were taken to the hospital after ingesting an unknown substance.

On Monday afternoon, principal Kevin Gildea sent an email regarding a medical incident that took place during the school day.

“The students consumed an unknown substance that negatively impacted their health,” Gildea wrote in the email.

The students were treated by the school nurse and taken to the hospital out of an abundance of caution. Their parents and guardians were contacted and all three students have recovered.

The Waltham Police Department did not respond to a request for comment before the deadline.

  1. What did the children ingest in their system? I know you really can’t say due to HEPA laws but it’s a very scary thing.
