Waltham Wrestling Club kicks off preseason Nov. 4

The Waltham Wrestling Club will launch its preseason practices on Nov. 4 at the Waltham Recreation Department’s Skate ‘n’ Scoot Room, 510 Moody St.
Practices will be held Tuesdays, with sessions for students in kindergarten through second grade from 5 to 5:50 p.m., grade three through grade five from 6 to 7 p.m. and grade six through eight from 7 to 8 p.m. Returning wrestlers are encouraged to bring a friend to try it out. All athletes may attend the preseason at no cost.
The free preseason training and open house continues for three sessions on Nov. 4, 11 and 18. Regular-season practices for registered wrestlers begin the week of Dec. 1 and run through February.
The winter program offers three divisions:
- Kindergarten through grade 2: Intro to Wrestling
- Grades 3–5: Beginners Wrestling
- Grades 6–8: Competition Wrestling
Practice times will vary by age group:
- Kindergarten through grade 2: 5–6 p.m.
- Grades 3–5: 6–7 p.m.
- Grades 6–8: 7–8:30 p.m.
Registration for the winter season is now open. Families are asked to obtain or update their child’s USA Wrestling membership before registering with the club.
