Silver Whisk Bake Shop & Chocolatier celebrates its grand opening on Friday, Nov. 14, and Saturday, Nov. 15, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event includes free tastings of the store’s chocolate bars.

Customers can purchase cakes whole or by the slice. Also available are a wide array of sweets, from classics such as chocolate chip cookies, brownies and cupcakes to adventurous concoctions such as brown-butter or ube Oreo Rice Krispies treats and pandan macaroons. Owner Nancy Zhou is particularly proud of her latest innovation -–  gourmet chocolate bars.

Silver Whisk won Best of Boston awards from Boston Magazine for best cakes in 2020 and 2022.

Zhou started her online bakery business 10 years ago as a hobby, specializing in wedding cakes, and took classes at the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. In 2020, she quit her job as a financial analyst at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to bring her full attention to baking. The Moody Street shop is Silver Whisk’s first physical store.
Although the retail shop is open only Fridays and Saturdays, people can order online and pick up their purchases  at the store on Friday or Saturday.
