Whittemore PTO hosts holiday trolley rides

Story and photos by Saul Blumenthal, Whittemore PTO

The Whittemore Elementary School PTO organized four holiday lights rides aboard Waltham’s Tick-Tock Trolley on Saturday, Dec. 13. Residents of the city — kids and adults alike — were treated to a nighttime tour narrated by Ward 8 Councilor Cathyann Harris, complete with jokes and games.

The trolley ride traveled around the South Side through Cedarwood, to City Hall and the Common, Warrendale and the Bleachery before returning to Whittemore.

Before the rides, the PTO sold hot chocolate and s’mores and homemade cookies in the school lobby. Mayor McCarthy joined all four rides and helped navigate to see the brightest lights in the city.
