Public Safety Watch: Waltham man arrested after burglary
A Waltham man was arrested after a break-in incident on Fox Road.
On March 9 at 4:26 a.m., a resident of a Fox Road home reported that someone had smashed in the front door and entered the residence.
While police were responding, the resident was able to get a description of the alleged perpetrator and scare the person away.
Police observed a man matching the description in the Fox Road area, reporting that the individual unsuccessfully tried to evade officers on foot when officers tried to approach him. Officers said the individual gave conflicting stories about where he was going that morning and where he had been.
The Fox Road resident identified the man as the individual who had been in the house, according to police reports.
When being booked for arrest, officers found pills in the man’s possession.
Police arrested Sean Quinn, 38, of 31 Caldwell Road, Waltham, at 5:16 a.m. and charged him for unarmed burglary, defacing property and possession of a class B drug.
Waltham man jumps into Charles River after allegedly breaking into a vehicle
On March 12 at 5:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to 61 Crescent St. for a report of someone breaking into a motor vehicle. Upon arrival, police observed the suspect running from the area. The suspect was advised to stop but continued running down Prospect Street toward the Charles River.
According to the police report, the suspect then jumped into Charles River. The individual struggled to stay afloat, but a nearby kayaker let the suspect hold onto the kayak’s stern while the kayaker paddled to shore.
Once they reached the shore, the suspect was evaluated by medical professionals before being arrested.
Geordani Mayorga Ramirez, 22, of 42 Prospect St., Waltham, was arrested and charged at 8:16 p.m. for breaking and entering a motor vehicle and disorderly conduct.

On March 7 at 11:41 a.m., police responded to a report of a utility hazard on 1077 Lexington St. A utility pole had snapped. Police stood by while Eversource workers repaired the pole.
At 6:08 p.m. police responded to a report of a larceny at J&M Dollar Discount at 300 Moody St. A clerk believed that someone had stolen a $20 bill from the counter. A report was filed.
On March 8 at 10:53 a.m., police responded to a report of a package theft at the Current on the Charles apartment complex at 36 River St. Someone reported that mail had been stolen. A report was filed.
Chad Rose, 32, homeless, of Waltham, was arrested and charged at 5:17 p.m. with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.
At 6:09 p.m. police responded to a report of a larceny at a residence on Garden Circle. A resident reported falling victim to an apartment rental scam by sending $3,000 to someone on Facebook before realizing it was a scam. A report was filed.
At 10:42 p.m. police responded to a report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run at 106 Lakeview Ave. A resident reported that a vehicle drove off after it struck a car in the caller’s driveway. The resident provided police with a license plate, and police were able to locate the driver on Taylor Street. The driver was cited with unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and leaving the scene of property damage.
On March 9 at 12:44 p.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Main and Warren streets. It was determined that the damage between the vehicles was minor, and police assisted the drivers with exchanging paperwork.
Stephen Stirk, 36, of 7 Chamberlain Terrace, Waltham, was arrested at 4 p.m. after police ran his name following an alleged shoplifting incident. Stirk was arrested on warrant charges out of Lowell District Court for two counts of credit card fraud under $1,200 and possession of a class A drug and one count of improper use of a credit card, possession of a class E drug, receiving a stolen credit card and breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
On March 10 at 1:37 a.m., police responded to a report of an unwanted person at the Residence Inn at 250 Second Ave. Management said a disruptive person was refusing to leave the premises. Upon arrival, the individual left without incident.
At 4:46 a.m. police responded to a noise complaint at a residence on Myrtle Street. Upon arrival, it was determined that the apartment was vacant but a television set had been left on at a high volume. Police informed the landlord of the incident.
At 11:04 a.m. police responded to a report of an unwanted person at the Shaw’s supermarket at 130 River St. Employees had repeatedly asked an individual to leave the store, noting that the individual was bothering customers. A report was filed.
On March 11 at 6:25 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle accident at 33 Eddy St. A vehicle was struck by another after pulling out of a driveway. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
At 4:04 p.m. police responded to a report of an identity theft at a residence on Berkeley Street. A resident reported that someone had hacked into the individual’s GoFundMe page. The individual’s bank flagged the incident and police advised the resident of follow-up options.
On March 12 at 2:35 p.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run at 64 Pine St. An individual reported that a vehicle had backed into the individual’s vehicle and that the other driver left the scene. Police were able to locate the other driver and cited that driver for leaving the scene of property damage and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. The owner of that vehicle was cited with allowing an unlicensed person to operate a vehicle.
At 5:47 p.m. police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Moody and Robbins streets. It was determined that a vehicle turning onto Moody Street from Robbins Street struck another vehicle in the intersection. A report was filed.
On March 13 at 8:21 a.m., police responded to a report of a dog loose on Trapelo Road. Police were able to reunite the dog with its owner.
At 1:42 p.m. police responded to a report of a recent break-in incident at 85 River St. The caller reported that security cameras showed an individual breaking into a common area on the second floor of a building located at that address at 1:17 a.m. A report was filed.
At 4:45 p.m. police responded to a shoplifting incident at Hannaford supermarket at 55 Russell St. A shopper was stopped by the loss prevention department after it was discovered the shopper had not scanned 30 items. The value of the unscanned items was $191.56. Police cited the individual for shoplifting.
