Waltham aids in response to Weston crash that sends multiple people to hospital
A serious motor vehicle collision occurred around 9:30 on Friday night on Route 20 at Crescent Street in Weston, resulting in multiple injuries and entrapment.
Emergency crews responded swiftly, with Waltham responders assisting along with Newton Fire, Wayland Fire, Lincoln Fire and Waltham Armstrong Ambulance.
Because of the severity of the crash, extrication tools, known as the Jaws of Life, were deployed to free trapped occupants.
At least four ambulances were called to the scene, and multiple injured parties were transported to Newton-Wellesley Hospital and Lahey Hospital. The exact number of victims and the severity of their injuries were not available.
The road was temporarily shut down as first responders worked to extricate victims and clear the scene. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
