Public Safety Watch: Waltham man given summons for property damage to Nova Biomedical

A Waltham resident was given a summons for leaving the scene of property damage, following an investigation by the Waltham Police Department into a recent incident at Nova Biomedical Corp.
On March 30 at 8:37 p.m., police responded to a report of a motor vehicle accident at the company’s headquarters at 200 Prospect St. A security guard reported that a truck had backed into one of the building’s metal doors. The guard told the operator of the vehicle to wait for the police, but the driver left the scene.
Police determined the driver’s residence using a picture taken by the guard of the vehicle’s license plate to track down the driver’s information.
According to police, the driver initially denied responsibility but admitted to leaving the scene after police showed him evidence of the crash. Police gave the 67-year-old Waltham resident a summons to appear in Waltham District Court.

On March 28 at 1:47 p.m., police responded to a report of an identity theft at a residence on Helen Street. Police determined that several accounts were opened using the reporting party’s identity. Police gave the reporting party advice on next steps.
At 3:26 p.m. police responded to a report of a larceny at Hannaford Supermarket at 55 Russell St. The loss prevention department reportedly caught a female shopper trying to leave the store with an item worth $45. The shopper was given a trespass notice and a summons to Waltham District Court for shoplifting.
At 6:46 p.m. police assisted the Medford Police Department with locating a missing juvenile. Police checked the area around Metropolitan Parkway North and South near the Waltham-Lexington line but could not locate the juvenile. The Medford Police Department located the missing juvenile later that night.
On March 29 at 9:44 a.m., police responded to a report of a noise complaint on Felton Street. A resident told police that a vehicle had been playing loud music for several hours. Police made contact with the occupants of the vehicle and advised them to lower the music.
At 9:49 a.m. police responded to a report of a raccoon at a residence on Highland Street. The reporting party stated that a raccoon was lying on the property’s fire escape. Officers observed the animal and determined that there was no danger to it or the individual.
At 2:54 p.m. police responded to a report of an unwanted individual at the Metro by T-Mobile at 333 Moody St. An employee reported that an upset customer was refusing to leave the store. The customer left the store without incident upon police arrival.
At 6:50 p.m. police responded to a report of a missing juvenile from Belmont who was last seen at the Planet Fitness at 108 Clematis Ave. Officers located the juvenile in the area at 9 p.m. and informed the individual’s family.
On March 30 at 6:52 a.m., police responded to a report of a vehicle break-in at an apartment at 82 Lionel Ave. The police were informed that the reporting party’s wallet was missing from an unlocked vehicle. A report was filed.
At 2:41 p.m. police responded to a report of property vandalism at a Central Street residence. The resident’s political signs installed on a chain-link fence had been spray-painted with the word “communist.” Police gave the resident advice on potential security measures for the property.
Marissa Godwin, 28, of 301 Menlo St., Brockton, was arrested at 7:16 p.m. on a warrant for an unspecified motor vehicle light violation and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.
Daniel Feinstein, 33, of 133 Old Post Road, Sharon, was arrested at 7:48 p.m. for operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and failure to yield or stop at an intersection or sign.
On March 31 at 12:22 p.m., police responded to a report of property vandalism at Bird Precision at 1 Spruce St. A 12-inch-long scratch, possibly made by someone’s keys, was found on the driver’s side door of the reporting party’s vehicle. The incident is under investigation.
At 12:42 p.m. police responded to a report of a motor vehicle hit-and-run at 672 Moody St. Police determined that the reporting party’s vehicle had been struck by another vehicle on March 30. The caller was able to get a video of the vehicle leaving the scene of the accident but did not get the other vehicle’s license plate. A report was filed.
On April 1 at 9:17 a.m., Tara Campbell, 54, of 48 Edward Road, Newton, was arrested for shoplifting. Waltham police arrested her on a warrant for an alleged 2024 offense in Watertown.
At 10:27 a.m. police were called to a property on Amory Road to keep the peace between a former tenant and landlord. Police remained in the area while the former tenant removed personal items from the property.
At 12:05 p.m. police responded to a report of a break-in in progress at a residence on Weston Street. The caller reported that a camera captured the property’s rear door opening. Upon arrival, officers and the owner conducted a walk-through of the property and determined that the wind may have blown the door open.
At 5:56 p.m. police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle from the parking lot of a residence on Stearns Hill Road. It was reported that the owner’s vehicle may have been stolen on March 29 or March 30. The matter is under investigation.
On April 2 at 8:06 a.m., police responded to a report of multiple motor vehicle break-ins at a business on Newton Street. The business owner told police that five vehicles at the property were broken into and damaged. The incident is under investigation.
At 12:18 p.m. police responded to a report of shoplifting at Market Basket at 110 Market Place Drive. An employee stated that someone returned items that may have been stolen from the Market Basket in Burlington. The individual left before police arrived. Information on the incident was given to the Burlington Police Department.
At 6:52 p.m. police responded to a report of a larceny at a Briarwood Road residence. The reporting party stated that a package was stolen from the front steps of the property. The matter is under investigation.
On April 3 at 12:07 p.m., police responded to a report of identity theft at a business on Massasoit Street. A manager reported that someone stole the business’s identity to make fraudulent bank transfers with one of its suppliers. The reporting business did not lose any money, but a report was filed and the matter is under investigation.
At 12:27 p.m. the Police and Fire departments responded to a report of a suspicious letter that was mailed to a Winter Street business. The letter was opened safely and determined not to be a threat to anyone’s safety.
