Court report: Warrant issued for Dorchester man
A Dorchester man is free on bail after pleading innocent to drug distribution charges stemming from a three-month investigation.
Carlos Brioso-Collintes, 43, of 15 School St., Dorchester, was released on a $2,000 bail on March 24 at the Waltham District Court, where he was arraigned on multiple charges.
Brioso-Collintes is due back in Waltham District Court for a cause hearing on May 14.

Watertown police arrested Brioso-Collintes on March 21 following a joint investigation with Waltham police and the Suburban Middlesex County Drug Task Force.
Brioso-Collintes is charged with distribution of fentanyl and cocaine, failure to stop for police, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, according to court documents.
Prior to the arrest, a warrant was issued for Brioso-Collintes for making false statements on an application for a driver’s license and giving false identification information to law enforcement.
His March 21 arrest was the result of an investigation into a group using multiple vehicles to allegedly distribute narcotics in Middlesex County.
Court records show that the Waltham Police Department’s investigation dates back to at least Jan. 7, when a Waltham officer reportedly spotted a gold Subaru Forester that had been flagged as being involved in a suspected drug deal. The officer saw the Subaru Forester pull into the Merc apartment complex on Moody Street. According to police, the driver of the vehicle displayed behavior consistent with drug-related activity.
On Feb. 7, police witnessed the driver of a blue Subaru Impreza exhibit the same driving behavior on Jackson Street. According to the report, the driver was the same one seen by the Waltham police officer a month earlier. A passenger exiting the vehicle on Feb. 7 was stopped by police while walking back toward Jackson Street, where police said he tossed bags of cocaine and fentanyl from his pocket onto the ground before being detained. The bags were sent to a lab for testing.
According to the report, the passenger admitted to buying the items from the driver but said he did not know the driver’s name.
On March 11, police spotted the Subaru Impreza enter the Merc apartment complex, as well as a stop at another apartment complex on Moody Street.
An attempt on March 20 to arrest Brioso-Collintes was unsuccessful, as he fled police on South Street, according to police documents.
The next day Watertown police and an officer from the Waltham Police Department stopped Brioso-Collintes on Charles River Road, where he was taken into custody after resisting arrest.
Upon his arrest, Briosco-Collintes provided police with a name but did not have any identification cards to verify it, according to police.
The police report said Brioso-Collintes was previously found guilty of fentanyl distribution on Oct. 17, 2018.
The police report notes that a name with a similar spelling, “Carlos Brioso-Collantes” has been entered into the FBI’s Criminal Justice Information System. The name was listed in a group of 105 individuals who violated the RICO Act in Puerto Rico.
According to an unsealed federal indictment from 2015, an individual with the same name was listed as a member of La Rompe ONU, a drug trafficking organization in Puerto Rico.
In the indictment, Carlos Brioso-Collantes AKA “El Barber” or “Wiso El Barber” was named as a supplier of firearms for the organization.
