July 4 brings festivities to Prospect Hill, closes city offices

This Friday the Waltham Recreation Department will host a free July 4th Family Celebration at Prospect Hill Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The celebration will feature food vendors, music, inflatables, patriotic crafts and games, amusements and more. There is no rain date.

Prospect Hill Park’s vehicle access road will be closed on July 4. Trolley shuttles will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and will run from Prospect Hill Park to 10 City Point at 500 Totten Pond Road, where additional parking will be available.

Waltham city offices and the Waltham Public Library will be closed on Friday for the holiday.

Parking will be free at all municipal pay stations on July 4.

There will be no trash and recycling collection on Friday, July 4. Friday’s pick-up will be delayed one day to Saturday, July 5.
