Visitors to the 200 Trapelo Road playground must reserve parking on weekends and holidays

The new playground at 200 Trapelo Road has drawn impressive crowds, and with those crowds, a parking headache.
The City of Waltham’s Recreation Department has released new parking guidelines to help manage the influx of cars to the area.
On weekends and holidays, parking is by reservation only and limited to Waltham residents and individuals with disabilities. Reservations can be made online.
People with disabilities or who have a disabled family member can reserve a spot up to three days in advance by emailing the Recreation director at khebert@city.waltham.ma.us.
On weekdays, no reservations are required and visitors may park in the on-site lot as long as spaces are available.
At all times, on-street or neighborhood parking near the park is “strictly prohibited” according to the new guidelines. All visitors to the park must either use the on-site parking lot or use alternative transportation options.
City officials request that if there are no available reservations or parking spots, park-goers should explore one of the city’s many other parks.
