Rando Lane home expansion passes without difficulty at ZBA

The Zoning Board of Appeals approved a petition allowing Richard and Maria Iannetti to extend their Rando Lane home to include a sunroom that would straddle zoning-mandated setbacks on the property.

Kevin Kieler from the construction firm Brady-Built Sunrooms presented the case to the board. He said because the house’s patio had been removed, the Iannettis wanted to create an outdoor living space that was better screened from insects.

As a result of the slanted shape of their lot, however, any rectangular sunroom that resembled the construction of neighboring houses would extend the house closer to the property line than allowed by zoning.

After confirming that the Iannettis had talked to their neighbors and hadn’t heard any opposition to the project, the board unanimously allowed the variance.
